17 May 2005 : Musical Baton

I've been passed a musical baton by Tommy, and I've been meaning to post about music for ages, so here goes nothing.

Total volume of music files on my computer is…

14.5 Gb, if you don't include my own raw recordings (17Gb if you do).

The last CD I bought was…

“Hypertension” by Jon Gomm.

Song playing right now…

“Please” by Nine Inch Nails (good job I'm not writing this in a couple of minutes time).

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me…

  1. “Disolution (The Clouds Disperse)” by Ozric Tentacles
  2. “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry
  3. “Ramble On” by Led Zeppelin
  4. “Karmageddon” by Nick Harper
  5. “Disarm” by Smashing Pumpkins

Five people to whom I'm passing the baton…

  1. FairyJo
  2. Patrick H. Lauke
  3. Pixeldiva
  4. Meryl
  5. mogplayer

My apologies if you've already been “batoned”.

I dunno Robert, my cane’s pretty big. Might be able to reach all the way up to you ;-)

Who ever started this batton game needs some serious pain…

Heh, any excuse to blog, eh? Besides, it’s a lot less pain than actually listening to one of my tracks.

Yeah, don’t worry I’ll carry Vigo on my back so he can whack the perpetrators with full force then.

Though I am not too sure; I haven’t heard the ’.j unplugged live recordings’ yet.

Don’t listen to the fool! .j’s music is actually really good. I highly recommend Dakshina. :) Ooh, and really, someone must persuade him to sing one of his Mr Tickle songs when he’s at @media! He may not remember the words (he never used to), but he’ll probably make something up or sing “sha la da di da” instead. ;)

Uh-oh… I think he’s going to kill me now… help, help!

Yes, .j did mention someday he’d upload his music and I am still waiting… I am sure it’s rather good, just need to encourage him out of his shell.

Shell? .j has a shell? *goes to investigate* You lie! He has a cocoon, actually…:P

If .j won’t give you a link to any Mr Tickle tunes, I will. Go here and listen to Mr Tickle live, everybody! -> BoB 2002: Semis

*runs and ducks for cover, anticipating the earthquake that will happen when .j finds out*

Note: if the link doesn’t work, fairyJo accepts none of the blame, so pner.

Jo, I don’t think those streams/downloads work any more.

Since you ask so nicely, I’ll put something up soon.

For those interested, here’s an acoustic track we recorded a couple of years ago:

Curing Day (acoustic) – mp3, 4.4 MB I’ve taken the file off for now. I’ll make a proper post about my music soon.

(Excuse the levels - we only had one microphone to record with...)

Isn’t T-1 connection great; downloaded it within less than 10 seconds (I see what you mean about “sha la da di da”) not bad… How on earth did they/he become one of the Mister Men?

They needed a name for the Battle of the Bands at uni. So the guy filling in the form (the lead guitarist) wrote down “Mr Tickle”, and a legend was born! The logo was really fab. :D

Sadly, Jon says he won’t post the logo here, as it, um, kind of infringes copyright laws. But he made himself a keyring, so when you next see him ask to see it.
